  • It is a rocky road to heaven.
  • The wealth of heaven lasts forever.
  • The road to hell is paved with good intentions.
  • The road to Heaven is well signposted, but it is badly lit at night.
  • In God there is no night and day.
  • Faith is better than fasting, and love crowns both.
  • God fits the back to suit the burden.
  • God is good and the devil is not bad, either.
  • God’s help is nearer than the door.
  • It is far away what God sends.
  • God never closes one door without opening another.
  • There is nothing in the world so poor as going to hell.
  • A Sabbath well-spent brings a week of content.
  • The minister christens his own child first.
  • All are not saints that go to church.
  • The love of God guides every good.
  • God is good but don’t dance in a currach.
  • Earth has no sorrows that heaven cannot heal.
