Many concerned friends and neighbors have written in excitement after seeing that façade work has started on the Uptown Theatre building. Workers are doing important inspection and stabilization work on the outside walls. In doing so, they will strap or remove the more problematic sections, storing them away for safety, and learn more about the building exterior’s condition overall.
This is the first work of this kind to be done since 1996.
We appreciate the hard work and diligence of the building’s receiver and local officials.
Urban Explorers visited and researched the Uptown Theatre, Chicago, last year and have filed their report with the Discovery Channel. Tune in to this exciting, fun, and gonzo–yet educational–show. It is playing now in heavy rotation.
